In the AI race, Microsoft entered the ring with an AI tool targeting working professionals with a new tool called Copilot AI.
So, I tested out this AI generator for a month. While they do have a free version, I tried the Copilot Pro plan at $20/month. Would I suggest you try it out for yourself? Well… it’s complicated.
AI Targeting Professionals?
First, let’s give Microsoft some credit where it’s due. Copilot AI is marketed towards professionals and business owners, with features like email generation and social media post ideas.
But here’s the thing: AI-generated content can only go so far. While it may be able to come up with a catchy subject line or a witty tweet, it lacks the personal touch and genuine human connection that is key in building a successful brand.
The Magic Behind Copilot
Microsoft isn’t a no-name brand in the tech space… it is the largest software provider of businesses in the world. So, having an integrated AI into popular apps like Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a major selling point for Copilot AI.
The introduction of a freemium model ensures that Copilot isn’t locked behind a paywall, making it accessible for the curious, the creators, and the innovators across the board. And for those who wish to plunge deeper into its capabilities, Microsoft Copilot Pro unveils a realm of possibilities including custom chatbot creation.
My Hands on Experience
First of all, in order to access Copilot you need to have a Microsoft account, which makes sense.
I won’t deny, there were moments when Copilot AI impressed me. Its ability to suggest alternative phrases and restructure my sentences definitely improved my writing skills.
However, after using Copilot for a month, I realized that while it can certainly spark ideas and save time, it cannot replace the creativity and personal touch that
Furthermore, during my month-long experiment with Copilot AI, I had a lot of quick fixes for common things like grammar corrections and misspelled words. But, I found that it didn’t quite hit the mark when it came to conveying my brand’s unique voice and style.
Should You Try It?
If you’re looking for a tool to help with basic writing tasks and provide inspiration, then Copilot AI may be worth a try. It can save time and improve efficiency when it comes to creating content.
However, for those seeking a strong brand voice and personal connection with your audience, Copilot AI may not be the best fit. After all, nothing beats genuine human creativity and authenticity.
Keep in mind that Copilot is still in its early stages of development and it will continue to improve over time.
