Micromanagement Management Style:

Micromanagement involves closely overseeing everything employees do to ensure they’re completing their work correctly and on time. This type of leadership can be problematic as it makes workers feel like they aren’t trusted or empowered enough to make decisions on their own without having constant direction from someone else.

Autocratic Management Style:

Autocratic managers focus most (if not all) of their energy and attention on ensuring that employees are following management’s rules and direction. They often make decisions without input from others, which can alienate workers who feel like they aren’t being listened to or included in the decision-making process.

Consultative Management Style:

This management style requires managers to seek out employee opinions during all stages of a project before making management decisions about how work should proceed. Managers must be willing to take into account what employees have learned through research and other means, rather than just basing management actions off personal opinion alone.

Democratic Management Style:

Similar to consultative management , democratic management involves asking for feedback and advice from subordinates throughout the course of a project so that everyone has an opportunity to share his or her thoughts with management. Democrat management is a management style in which employees are allowed to participate or have influence on decisions that affect them.

Laissez-faire Management Style:

Laissez faire management is a management style in which managers are more hands off with employees. Managers may assume that workers know what’s expected of them without taking time to go over goals or expectations, or they may leave it up to employees themselves to figure out how best to accomplish their work tasks.

Transactional Management Style:

Transactional management occurs when an employee receives direction from someone above him/her and then carries out the task as told by his/her manager. If you’re interested in this management style because your preferred leadership approach involves telling others exactly what needs doing and expecting them not only follow through but also do so efficiently, this might be right for you! However, if you want to be a management team player, transactional management might not serve your needs.

Transformational Management Style:

Transformational management is when leaders use their charisma and vision in order to inspire workers into actively carrying out management’s directions instead of just following them like they would under transactional leadership. Do you have the ability to motivate employees with inspiring words? If so, transformational management might work well for you! However, if you’re more of an introvert than extrovert or aren’t known for sharing lofty visions at important milestones in projects or everyday business tasks, this management style may not suit your strengths as a leader.
